As part of its mission to “create an international community of […] scholars and passionate readers to share and discuss historic and contemporary developments in the field of Angela Carter studies”, the Angela Carter Society runs a regular prize in order to “celebrate the best scholarly work being undertaken in the field”. If you have published or aim to publish a chapter or peer-reviewed journal article between 1 Jan 2022 and 31 Dec 2023, then consider submitting an entry for the Angela Carter Society Awards. The Society is keen to hear from early career researchers and postgraduates, as well as established academics. There are two prizes to win: the Award for best Chapter/Journal Article (£50) and the Student Essay Prize (£100). Applications are open to members of the Angela Carter Society only – details of how to apply can be found here. The deadline for entries is 31 January 2024 and the winners will be announced at next year’s Angela Carter Conference (details forthcoming so watch this space).
