To mark the 75th anniversary of Angela Carter’s birth in 2015, Penguin Random House published a Deluxe Edition of The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories, with a new introduction by Kelly Link and illustrations by Alex Konahin. Based in Riga, Latvia, Konahin creates wonderfully intricate and detailed line drawings using dip pens, India ink and fineliners on paper. Take a look at his website and check out his illustrations for Carter’s The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories here.
Alex Konahin also has a YouTube channel, where he has recorded and uploaded time-lapse videos of himself at work. Watch his video ‘The Flea Speed Drawing’ below:

The illustrations are sublime and quite powerful. A perfect marriage with Angela Carter’s words.
