The Watershed in Bristol is presenting a series of films throughout December to mark the 25th anniversary of Angela Carter’s death. Referred to collectively as Angela Carter Sunday Brunches, the Watershed are showing a “season of sophisticated fairytales, twisted imagery and gothic mysticism” that evoke Carter’s particular aesthetic. Across two weeks in December, the Watershed will be screening Jean Cocteau’s La Belle et La Bête (1946), Matteo Garrone’s Tale of Tales (2015) and Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth (2006). Head over to the Watershed website to check dates and book tickets.
This event forms part of the Bristol800 programme and is in conjunction with the opening of the RWA event ‘Strange Worlds: The Vision of Angela Carter’, which begins on Saturday 10th December 2016.
