Sir Christopher Frayling will be speaking about Angela Carter, The Bloody Chamber, and her influence on the contemporary Gothic at the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds on the 26th January 2017, as part of Opera North’s season of dark fairy tales. Frayling knew Carter well and met up frequently with her during the 1970s when she lived in Bath. His talk will be followed by a screening of Jean Cocteau’s classic film La Belle et la Bête (1946). For more information about this even and to book tickets head over to Opera North’s website.

You can read more about Frayling’s friendship with Carter in his book Inside the Bloody Chamber: On Angela Carter, the Gothic, and other weird tales, published by Oberon Books. To find out more about the book and purchase a copy, head over to Oberon Books by clicking here.
